Microsoft Word Flaw is Being Used to Spread Banking Trojan
An unpatched Microsoft Word vulnerability in all current versions of Microsoft Office is being used to spread the Dridex malware banking trojan.
One of the most dangerous trojans on the internet, the malware monitors a victim’s traffic to bak site by infiltrating PCs and stealing online banking credentials and financial data.
This latest spam campaign is sending weaponized Word documents to millions of recipients across multiple organizations. The zero-day flaw allows hackers to bypass most exploit mitigations developed by Microsoft.
To avoid the attack, enable Protected View in Microsoft Office since the attack does not work when a malicious document is viewed in this mode.
