LogMeIn has released a new version of its GoToMeeting platform for the healthcare industry to help support telehealth services during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The new addition to the company’s GoTo suite of unified communications and collaboration products is a videoconferencing platform preconfigured with technical, organizational and physical security measures so healthcare professionals and patients can transmit data and continue to meet HIPAA guidelines and keep patient information confidential.
The new platform, dubbed GoToMeeting for Healthcare, is designed to connect providers across a wide range of healthcare organizations like hospitals, assisted living centers, urgent care, general medical, behavioral health, social workers, dental practices and more with their patients and staff.
This helps provide non-coronavirus related healthcare to those that need it safely, said Mark Strassman, LogMeIn’s senior vice president and general manager for unified communications and collaboration, in a statement.

“As the Coronavirus pandemic pushes organizations to enact procedures to keep staff and patients safe, we’re here to help with the launch of our new GoToMeeting for Healthcare product,” Strassman said. “LogMeIn has long been a trusted provider in remote work technology, and we are committed to helping healthcare providers with a pre-configured solution that supports their HIPAA compliance needs and reduces unnecessary risk by offering safe and secure virtual face-to-face meetings anytime a patient needs to connect with their provider.”
Providers and patients can connect over a laptop or mobile device, and meeting organizers can secure sessions with meeting locks and password protection.
Like other UC platforms, users can join a meeting on their desktop without having to download the app.
Other features include drawing tools, keyboard mouse controls, HD faces and integrations with electronic medical record systems like Epic and Athena.
