Video analysis and management platform CLIPr has announced a new freemium program for Microsoft Teams customers that allows organizations using Teams to begin using the tool for up to four hours per month and 50 hours of backlog.

According to the company, the Freemium All-hands program for Microsoft Teams allows companies and their employees to download and install the CLIPr Technical Preview to begin CLIPr ingesting their all-hands meetings for free.

Poly, a global provider of audio and video technology for conferencing, is both a business partner and the first such enterprise customer to join the company’s Technical Preview for Microsoft Teams.

Humphrey Chen, CLIPr CEO, said in a statement that this is the first fully-integrated experience for Microsoft Teams customers, which will be followed by other workplace and videoconferencing platforms.

“As enterprises adjust to the increase in virtual meetings and time spent in them, we are excited to launch the CLIPr Freemium All-hands program allowing employees to easily discover the information they need from meetings, and ultimately improve productivity and engagement in the virtual and hybrid workplace,” he said.

The company says the platform helps users discover important moments within recorded video content so they can search, engage, interact and share what they care about with ease.

Essentially, the tool is designed to address the challenges resulting from the huge uptick in virtual meetings, many of which are being recorded for employees to watch later.

Videos are processed by the company’s machine learning algorithms that analyze audio and visual cues using natural language processing and computer vision to index the key topics and visual cues in each video.

CLIPr then recommends content base don user behavior, and users can search for keywords, speaker names and more, the company says.

In a statement, Brighu Sareen, corporate vice president of Microsoft Teams, said the collaboration app has seen huge growth over the last year and a half, and the company is constantly looking into new technologies to help customers increase productivity.

“Technologies such as CLIPr that are capable of easily extracting and recalling information from video content will be crucial for the future of work,” Sareen said.
