NEC UNIVERGE BLUE, CONNECT

NEC has announced the U.S. general availability of NEC UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT and NEC UNIVERGE BLUE ENGAGE, cloud-based unified communications, collaboration and contact center solutions that come as a product of NEC’s partnership with cloud-based communications provider Intermedia.

The general availability comes four weeks after the companies announced the global strategic partnership that are built in Intermedia’s technology with support to market via NEC’s partner ecosystem.

In a press release, Marc Hebner, vice president of enterprise channel at NEC, said there has been overwhelmingly positive feedback from NEC partners and existing customers about the new solutions since they are helping organizations shift to a remote workforce.

“Businesses today need the ability to communicate from anywhere at any time, and we believe this need will extend well beyond the current COVID-19 pandemic,” Hebner says. “We are extremely pleased to offer a suite of fully integrated UCaaS and CCaaS solutions that are easy to deploy and use, and can support our customers’ transition to the cloud.”

NEC UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT is a business communications platform that includes cloud-based phone, chat, videoconferencing, file sync and share for the desktop, web and mobile apps.

Meanwhile, NEC UNIVERGE BLUE ENGAGE is a cloud-based contact center that can fit the needs of small, single channel to large omni-channel environments.

According to NEC, these solutions augment NEC’s portfolio of on-premises solutions and offer calling, team collaboration and customer care solutions, allowing businesses to deploy cloud environments and migrate at a pace appropriate for them.

Both can be integrated with NEC premise-based systems and are now generally available for NEC’s U.S. business channel partner.

Wednesday’s announcement represents the first phase of a global rollout during 2020 that is expected to include partners around the world by the end of the year.
