Lenovo and Cloudistics Release ThinkAgile Cloud in a Box

The new ThinkAgile CP Series is designed to help customers enjoy the convenience and ease of use of a public cloud behind their own data center firewall.

Lenovo Data Center Group, in collaboration with Cloudistics, has developed the new ThinkAgile CP Series, a composable “cloud-in-a-box” platform designed to combine the agility of the public cloud with the security of a private cloud.

ThinkAgile CP Series products come with fully-integrated infrastructure, an application marketplace, and end-to-end automation of software-defined networking, compute, and storage. Users can manage them centrally through a software-as-a-service portal.

“As a global company that is unencumbered by legacy, Lenovo is uniquely positioned to not only listen to our customers and understand their pain points, but also develop revolutionary solutions that eliminate IT roadblocks and accelerate their business growth,” said Roderick Lappin, senior vice president, worldwide sales and marketing at Lenovo Data Center Group, in a press statement. “The ThinkAgile CP Series is another example of how Lenovo is driving the industry forward by enabling customers to truly own their cloud experience in a secure, scalable and streamlined way.”

“Cloudistics’ private cloud computing platform cuts down application deployment cycles by 90%, which translates to faster time to revenue,” said Cloudistics CEO Najaf Husain in prepard remarks. “We make private clouds as easy to use as the public cloud but with the control and performance enterprise customers want. Our partnership with Lenovo enables us to unleash a next-generation composable cloud platform to the market that is easy to implement, deploy, operate, maintain and support.”

According to Lenovo, the ThinkAgile CP Series features integrated high availability, backup, remote replication, usage metering functionality, as well as live help and support and multi-layered, multi-tenant security. Customers have access to a curated application marketplace for deployment, and plug-and-play, scale-out units of compute and storage capacity. The platform is optimized for businesses that want the benefits of the public cloud without making compromises on control, security, application performance, and service delivery.

“The simplicity of the platform significantly changed our work output,” said Scott Whitehouse, IT director at New York-based solution provider Integreon Inc., in a press statement. “We are able to easily import applications, assign cloud computing resources and launch applications on-demand based on our organizational needs in a fraction of the time it used to take us.”

Lenovo introduced the ThinkAgile product line in October 2016. A set of VMWare-based hyperconverged infrastructure appliances joined the portfolio last August.
