The Pegula Arena is loaded with 95 HDTVs so hockey fans can keep their eyes on the game no matter where they are. Each T.V. functions off of Z-Band Video’s television distribution system, which connects to a Gen3GigaBOB and GigaBUD. The T.V.s enable fans to run to the restrooms or concession stands, and still watch the game with clear qualities and sharp details, creating an experience that might be better than watching it live. For other colleges looking to imitate the television distribution center at the Pegula Arena, Penn State and Claire Solutions (the system integrator) suggest keeping the project organized, studying how other colleges run their systems, and working with vendors that know what they’re doing.
