Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Amazon AppFlow, a fully managed service that makes it easier and more secure to transfer data between common enterprise apps and AWS services.
In a press release, the cloud platform giant said Amazon AppFlow allows for the transfer of data without writing custom integration code for common enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) apps like Salesforce, Marketo, Slack and ServiceNow.
AppFlow also works with AWS PrivateLink to beef up privacy and security by routing data flows through the AWS network rather than over the public internet.
The new service addresses the issue of data stored in dozens of SaaS apps being siloed from data stored in AWS. That typically requires customers to write code to build custom integrations, but that process can be time consuming and difficult to scale.

AppFlow allows customers to configure private, bidirectional data flows between AWS services and apps without code or preforming data transformation, and customers can build and execute data flows between sources in minutes, according to AWS.
“Our customers tell us that they love having the ability to store, process, and analyze their data in AWS. They also use a variety of third party SaaS applications, and they tell us that it can be difficult to manage the flow of data between AWS and these applications,” said Kurt Kufeld, Vice President of AWS, in a statement. “Amazon AppFlow provides an intuitive and easy way for customers to combine data from AWS and SaaS applications without moving it across the public Internet. With Amazon AppFlow, our customers bring together and manage petabytes, even exabytes, of data spread across all of their applications – all without having to develop custom connectors or manage underlying API and network connectivity.”
AppFlow is now available in parts of the U.S., Asia Pacific, Europe, and South America. Customers only pay for the number of flows they run and the volume of data processed, according to AWS.
