When you think about digital signage, your mind is instantly brought to large video walls with thin bezels in casinos and stadiums, display screens lining long hallways at college campuses, and projectors mapping images against screens, glass, and even full buildings. It’s true that digital signage typically means a display screen, but there are interesting ways to build off that.
When we walked the show floor of Digital Signage Expo (DSE) 2019, there was plenty of everything above. In fact, you can check out some of the stand-out video solutions from the show floor in our recent slideshow, and when you’ve finished be sure to learn more about the hardware and software powering these solutions. You’ll notice that many manufacturers are selling their variation of similar products. For good reason – not every display, video wall, or projector is best for every project. It’s good to have the variance to pick and choose what works for your organization.
However, we wanted to highlight some of the booths that offer products you don’t expect to see when walking the show floor. From analytics platforms, to furniture with retractable displays, and even tablets that let you feel what’s on the screen. The companies in our slideshow include:
- Lenovo
- LG-MRI
- Johnson Controls
- Marshall Furniture
- Mimo Monitors
- Peerless AV
- Stratacache
Each of these companies brought something relatively unexpected to the show floor last week in Las Vegas, and we wanted to make sure our audience was aware of all that was out there. In the world of AV and IT convergence, it isn’t all just displays, projectors, encoders, decoders, switches, and racks anymore. There’s a whole new world of technology to explore.
