Endpoint device manufacturer ASUS has launched its new Google Meet Compute System designed for videoconferencing and remote work.
The hardware kit includes the Google Meet Compute System, a touch screen control panel, a speaker/microphone and UDH camera, according to the company’s website.

Enabling stunning HD visuals, the kit features the compact ASUS – Google Meet Compute System powered by an Intel® Core™ i7 processor and offering a revolutionary magnetic chassis design for easy setup. The newly designed ASUS – Google Meet Compute System is built and tested to provide a product that exceeds industry standards and ensures reliability for users. Additionally, the firmware in the touchscreen control panel, UHD camera and speakermic receives automatic updates, allowing users to stay focused on business.
According to 9TO5Google, the Google Meet Compute System is essentially a redesigned version of Chromebox.
This rectangular, Mac Mini-esque computer running Chrome OS is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor with 128GB of storage that supports 4K video and can be connected to multiple displays simultaneously. There’s dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and ports arranged on one side for cleaner cable management.
The lineup includes a starter kit with a 4K UHD Huddly camera with 120-degree FOV and 250 feet of coverage. A remote control enables joining and ending meetings as well as adjusting volume with an integrated keyboard on the back. The speakermic has echo-cancellation and noise suppression features.
Other bundles for larger rooms include touchscreen panels and other options.
According to 9To5Google, the new kits are the first to come after Google rebranded Meet and expanded its free services as use surges due to the increase in coronavirus-induced remote work. The kits are designed to make use of those free features, including the ability to record meetings and save them to Google Drive.
Beta support for Google Assistant is also included with the hardware.
