We’re Glad These Businesses Had Office Security Cameras: Watch Criminals Fail at Breaking In

Office security cameras are a seriously-valuable tool, and there’s nothing funny about protecting your organization’s assets.

But when our friends at Security Sales & Integration – the top security industry publication – published their list of “dumb criminals caught on camera,” we couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.

Sometimes, you need to add levity to a serious topic, and these examples of criminals failing to break in are just perfect for that. Nothing like the sweet justice of karma.

This slideshow features a little bit of everything: failed escape attempts, botched robberies, bodily harm, and of course, sheer stupidity. You’ll be wondering, “What went so wrong in that person’s life that they’ve resorted to diving off court balconies?” or “How did that brick-thrower mistake his partner’s head for a glass door?!”

If anything, hopefully these videos can convince at least one person to think twice the next time they attempt to commit a crime. And, with any luck, they’ll also remind those of you in our audience how important it is to invest in office security cameras — both for the smart, successful criminals out there, and the ones who apparently can’t differentiate their rear end from their right hand, so to speak.

“Security has evolved rapidly over the past few years. Innovations in camera technology have created solutions that can be specifically tailored to the needs of a customer — whether that be video analytics, mobile notifications or something that can withstand extreme weather conditions,” says Steve Karantzoulidis, the Web/Senior Editor at SSI.

“Whatever you need, odds are an integrator will be able to find it for you.”
