We still have a long way to go to figure out distributed work

Organizations and employees have had two years to figure out a remote or hybrid work strategy and those conversations will likely continue for some time as hybrid and remote employees reevaluate how they want to work, research suggests.

According to Microsoft, 51% of hybrid employees will consider a switch to remote, and 57% of remote employees will consider a switch to hybrid in the year ahead. Meanwhile, 43% of employees are either somewhat or extremely likely to consider changing jobs, which is up from 41% last year.

Employees are still considering moving because their current job allows for remote work, with 38% of employees considering a move. Further, 30% are considering a move in the year ahead even if it means finding a new job that allows them to work remotely.

The company cited data from LinkedIn, which shows that remote jobs are still in high demand, with about one in every seven job postings accepting remote applications. That is up considerably from one in 67 job postings.
