Avaya has added new videoconferencing capabilities to Avaya Spaces designed to combat remote work struggles and videoconferencing fatigue by introducing new video layouts, modernized controls, and intelligent meeting moderation.
The new features for Avaya’s unified communications and collaboration app come after Avaya’s “Work from Anywhere” survey found that 57% of businesses are struggling with remote work communication and fatigue that is requiring more than just videoconferencing.
The new features are highlighted by a new 61-participant concert-style HD video layout where the primary speaker is a larger screen in the center. The company suggests this would be perfect for an all-hands or town hall meeting.
Other features include:
- An enhanced video layout with flexibility to accommodate different meeting types like panel discussions, training, project planning and interviews
- Modernized collaboration control to accommodate various use cases. For example, teachers can enable students to post assignments or chat outside of class time or turn off capabilities to eliminate distractions.
- Intelligent moderation tools like smart mute, control of participant cameras and microphones, and “raise hand” features for session management and to minimize disruptions.
- These new features come after a recent integration with cloud-based AI solutions from NVIDIA, including background noise removal, virtual backgrounds, layout features and live transcriptions.
“Today’s business environment has reshaped how organizations, customers and individuals work and collaborate no matter where teams are located, but it is not enough to just remote-enable people, we need to create the new future of work,” said Anthony Bartolo, executive vice president and chief product officer at Avaya.
