Extinct: Pagers

Pagers were a homing beacon that employees of the past used to call on one another. Like the Batman signal in the night sky, or the Dark Mark in the world of Harry Potter, a pager would warn the user that someone wished to contact them. The pager would beep, displaying the name or number of the person trying to reach you. You would then rush to the nearest payphone and call back, unaware of whether you were to learn you had just received an inheritance from a long lost relative or discover that you’ve been terminated from the company.
