Endangered: Corkboard

Like posters, corkboards provided information and intelligence to the office. These corkboards were updated more often, and used for more personal needs. If an employee was selling tickets to a ball game, or trying to solicit extra guests to a play they were performing in on their spare time, the flyers would be pinned to the corkboard. Photos of company outings, short announcements that wouldn’t last long, and veiled, passive-aggressive messages about cleaning the communal kitchen often decorated corkboards in the workplace. This is how news was spread in days long passed.
