Extinct: Floppy Disks
Floppy disks came hand-in-hand with desktop computers in workplaces of the past. These devices stored content and data which could be transported from computer to computer, uploaded and downloaded, much like information is today. The average 3.5-inch floppy disk could hold 1.44 MB of information, almost enough room to store a single photo from an iPhone of today. However, when judging by the rudimentary technological needs of the day, it is assumed that the entirety of human knowledge at that time could fit on a single disk.
