Endangered: Fax Machines

Fax machines were the first approximation of what email would one day do for the workplace. You took a document, fed it into the fax machine, and the information was scanned and sent to another fax machine in another part of the world. That fax machine would then print out the same information. It was an instant way to send mail to one another, perfect for things like contracts. From what I understand, employees of the past, enamored and confounded by this technology, would often scan body parts and fax them to friends as a joke.
