University of Louisville installed a new sound system in its Lynn Stadium.
According to a statement by Community Professional Loudspeakers, the university wanted “excellent audio with even coverage throughout the various seating areas and on the field.”
In order to achieve this goal, the university invested in a combination of designs crafted by Tom Lorenzen of dBA Acoustics:
• Fourteen Community W SERIES WX- 1594 loudspeakers, which are distributed on the underside of the canopy, pump sound into the 2,300 seat grandstand
• Eight R SERIES R4-474 and four R2-77 loudspeakers, which are installed on the lighting poles and video scoreboard, blast sound onto the field, end-zone bleachers and berms.
• Three R.5-99 loudspeakers, which are mounted on the scoreboard, and two Community D SERIES DS8 surface-mount loudspeakers with a separate amplifier both serve as an independent sound system for the patio garden near the concessions area.
The loudspeakers are powered by Lab Gruppen amplifiers. A Biamp AudiaFlex DSP creates equalization to produce consistent sound throughout the stadium.
The sound systems were installed by Bland Technologies.
