Sprint Executive Briefing Center Video Wall

In the competitive US telecom industry, it’s important to stand out. For Sprint, this means viewing each interaction as an opportunity to impress, engage and reinforce the elements that set the company apart from its rivals.

The Tech Decision

Sprint has annual revenues of more than $32B and serves more than 60 million customers with wireless voice, messaging and global wireline services. The company’s current EBC was dated in both its layout and technology used. To better serve its employees, partners and customer that access the EBC on a daily basis, Sprint set out to update the space to enable stronger engagement and collaboration.

Sprint required a solution that could meet the challenge of the curved rotunda while also being energy efficient, in addition to the ability to use a console so that Sprint executive could maintain eye contact with customers during meetings.

The company visited multiple installations across the United States, and when they discovered the Prysm technology, they determined it was the right solution for their needs. Sprint turned to Prysm, Inc. to create a new executive briefing center (EBC) to serve as the first face-to-face exposure that many enterprise customers, partners and prospects have to the telecom giant.

The Solution

A challenge in the design of the existing EBC was that the round, theater-style layout made visitors feel like they were sitting through a lecture.  Sprint worked with Prysm to purchase a 50 foot curved wall — featuring 120 Prysm Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) tiles and minimal bezels — that serves as the centerpiece of the Sprint EBC’s 2,300 square foot rotunda.

The building blocks of every Prysm video wall is the next-generation LPD tiles. An advanced optical sub-system directs the light from an array of ultra-violet lasers onto a screen made of a plastic-glass hybrid material coated with color phosphor stripes. The lasers scan the screen line by line from top to bottom. The energy from the lasers’ light activates the phosphors, which emit photons, producing a brilliant image.

Sprint also deployed every aspect of the Prysm content-management solution to deliver a futuristic computer interaction. Being able to move files around, drilling down into documents and popping back out into others without ever needing to show or use a desktop — all with just the swipe of a finger — was nirvana for Sprint. The company can now use information to fuel its creativity. It’s become an enabler, not an interruption.

The Impact

One of Sprint’s core missions is to help people — consumers or businesses — gain efficiency through the delivery of innovative solutions, and the Sprint EBC now conveys that message in a very compelling format.

The Prysm technology makes Sprint’s solutions come to life in a real way for their visitors. They get very excited and enthusiastic to engage. Their original goal was to wow every visitor – which they have accomplished.

Sprint’s account teams can really see the positive impact the EBC is having, and they keep coming back for more. As the focal point in the main presentation area, Sprint personnel use the interactive screens to share ideas and collaborate with visitors. Every element of the space actively encourages conversation and engagement. The new space reflects Sprint’s position as an innovative technology leader and provides a compelling and collaborative learning experience.

Sprint has been so impressed with the Prysm technology, they have said that it is technically superior to anything else on the market. The company also noted that what’s really compelling is how the technology has helped enhance the overall visitor experience.
