A video projector that could stand up to the rigors of dome theaters, theme park attractions and planetariums was the objective of Christie when developing a new member to add to its line of RGB laser projectors. The new Christie Mirage SST brings together features that make it a standout for demanding, complex applications.
For starters, it’s light and compact. Weighing in at 110 pounds, the Mirage SST can be installed in places where space previously had been a barrier. The remote light source allowed the chilling equipment to be placed away from the projector head, which also saves space and ensures that no noise generated by the projector distracts the audience.
“The Mirage SST joins the recently released D4K40-RGB in Christie’s lineup of RGB laser projectors,” says Mike Garrido, senior product manager, Christie. “The Mirage SST brings flexibility to system design and incredible image fidelity, and, as a result, we believe the creation of the next generation of spectacular, immersive visual experiences is now possible.”
Other features:
The Mirage SST delivers 4K resolution at 120fps; with an optional license, 480fps at 2K resolution. The high frame rates are particularly helpful when showing action images. It removes blurring and strobing that can otherwise occur when presenting fast-moving images.
Achieves greater than 90 percent of the Rec. 2020 color space and 5000:1 on/off contrast with ultra-high contrast lenses. With rich, saturated colors, a more natural color reproduction is also possible.
Installation configurations:
The Christie Mirage SST can be installed in single or multi-projector configurations. It is compatible with Christie Mystique Install to simplify the design, installation and maintenance of multi-projector arrays. The projector is also compatible with Christie Guardian, which offers automated, invisible, real-time blended image correction, even while content is playing.
Availability
The Christie Mirage SST ships Q1 2019 with a three-year parts and labor warranty.
