BenQ America Corp. recently unveiled a new Colorific projector the company says is “ideal for classroom applications.”

The ultra-short-throw MW883UST next-generation projector “combines high brightness, stunning WXGA resolution for crisp image quality, simple installation and setup and interactive capabilities, changing the way teachers and students engage,” according to the press release announcing the product.

“Classrooms have become dynamic collaboration and active learning spaces where access and quality of content are essential for engagement,” says Jan Spence, associate vice president of marketing communications and branding at BenQ, in the press release.

“Our newest education projector has been designed with that mantra in mind, providing educators with sharp imaging, multiple connectivity options and presentation tools to facilitate instruction in today’s classrooms. For administrators, these products offer ease of installation as well as remote management capabilities to make maintenance a snap.”

Here’s more about the BenQ MW883UST ultra-short-throw projector:

The advanced WXGA resolution MW883UST ultra-short-throw projector features powerful optical engines, beaming out an impressive 3,300 ANSI lumens and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio to enhance image quality for a richer visual experience, even under normal classroom lighting conditions. With the exclusive PointWrite interactive module option, the solution brings affordable collaboration capabilities to the classrooms of budget-conscious schools. PointWrite allows teachers and students to interact easily with and annotate course material to create a fun, engaging learning environment using pens or finger-touch technology.

Additionally, BenQ QWrite interactive software allows teachers to capture and save lessons easily so that students can be more fully immersed in the class and get the exact notes as they appear on the board. Wireless connectivity and content sharing is enabled via an optional QCast dongle.

Featuring Blu-ray 3D capabilities, dual HDMI ports (one being MHL-compatible), a USB reader for PC-less presentations and document saving, an integrated wireless docking port to house accessory dongles and powerful 20-W audio, the projector becomes a complete content hub for engaging lesson plans.

For ease of installation, the projector comes standard with a wall mount. With the shortest throw ratio on the market, the MW883UST can be placed just a few inches from the projection screen — casting diagonal images up to 140 inches. Additional setup options include vertical and horizontal keystone correction, corner fit capabilities and more.

BenQ’s classroom projection solutions provide immersive interaction, SmartEco™ lamp-saving technology, as well as effective and simple file-sharing apps to transform teaching plans into more captivating experiences. The Colorific projector line offers ease of use and installation flexibility with facility-wide remote assistance and display management in addition to scheduled maintenance via LAN control that prolongs product life. The LAN display feature allows schools to distribute messages across all classroom projectors on the network.

BenQ projectors also provide support for AMX, Crestron and PJLink system integration and sport a filter-free optical design to further reduce maintenance costs. Furthermore, BenQ’s Colorific technology ensures the delivery of accurate, crisp and long-lasting color. For schools, this means BenQ projectors eliminate light burn or color degradation from extended use, reducing the devices’ total cost of ownership.

BenQ is dedicated to the K-12 education space. Via its “BenQ Education Solutions in Technology” (BEST) program, the company continues to expand the range of dedicated sales and support initiatives exclusively for educators.

The MW883UST is now shipping in North America.
