Getting on board with company video content could be the best marketing decision your business makes. Studies show that videos online receive significantly more engagement than posts that only utilize a photo or just written content. And while commercials can sometime miss your audience, a creative one can drive customers to your business in droves.
And not only that – video marketing is growing by leaps and bounds. YouTube is the world’s second largest search engine for a reason. Future projections suggest that video marketing will continue to grow as well.
Video content is a valuable tool, no matter what your business does. One of the biggest reasons for companies neglecting video content, however, is simply stage fright; many owners dislike the thought of a static camera pointed at them as they to look at ease. Luckily, there are plenty of alternatives available that can keep you behind the camera and still get a quality video.
Hire Local Talent
For a high-quality, professional video, consider bringing in some local actors and actresses. It may seem like the sort of thing that could break a budget, but there are plenty of options available with this sort of talent. Some young talent are willing to work for the experience and to develop content to put in their portfolio.
Local talent can bring personality and professionalism to your product. The only potential issue here is that the same actors may not be available later if you want to do multiple videos, which could lead to consistency issues from video to video.
Put Your Employees in the Spotlight
A company video can be a fun project for a couple of your employees, too. Different personalities may really enjoy the idea of being featured in a video. From an owner’s perspective, it’s beneficial to have people who actually work for the business starring in the company’s videos. They can provide a genuine identity to your brand and make your company appear authentic.
Ask Friends and Family
Depending on your company’s focus, featuring friends and family in your video can be an excellent option as well. The key here is creativity – by using friends and family, you’re stepping out of the box of conventional advertising. That’s good! However, that means the video content should match their own personality.
Reach out to your personal network to see if any family members, friends or friends of friends are interested and try to tailor the idea to their strengths. Humor is a great way to option in most cases; no one likes promotional material that pushes too hard to sell.
Get a Local Celebrity
If your area has any local celebrities, hiring them could be the perfect way to bring some extra attention to your company’s videos. Depending on what they do, they may already have some experience in front of the camera.
One thing to keep in mind here is that this can be the most expensive option, although that depends on type of celebrity that you choose. It’s possible you could come to a mutually beneficial agreement with them that doesn’t involve a hefty appearance fee.
Go the Animated Route
Having real people in your videos creates a personable feel, but many businesses have also found success with animated videos. Animation is a great way to stray from the usual video format and there are plenty of services available to create animated videos as well. Animation’s departure from the norm can work well in getting people’s attention.
Just because it’s your company doesn’t mean you need to appear in the videos. Think about what the goal of your video marketing is; with that vision in mind, you can pursue other options that may have an even larger impact on your business than a message from the owner.
