BrightSign BrightBeacon

BrightBeacon improves the overall digital signage experience by increasing audience engagement and creating a highly targeted, personal experience on two screens. Using Bluetooth and beacon technologies, 2-way communication between BrightSign digital signage and mobile devices is achieved and allows for the delivery of highly targeted promotions based on location as well the ability to control digital signage playback from a mobile device.

Samsung Mirror Display

Samsung’s mirror display is designed to give an interactive and unique experience to digital signage. Most obviously the display fits in retail spaces, as well as corporate lobbies or highly trafficked areas that want to make more of an impression than with traditional displays. Sensors are built in to the mirror so that when viewers stand further away the mirror capability is most apparent, while the digital signage display more prominently as the viewer approaches. The display has touch ability, and the idea is that it can be used in retail environments to allow users to “try on” clothes before buying by lining up the outfit with their own reflection.

Barco R10 LED

Thanks to its thin, lightweight, and bendable design, Barco’s R-series attach easily to virtually any surface, especially on curved surfaces. Designed for applications in retail, advertising, venues, and visitor attractions, the R-series frees customers from the limitations of traditional LED displays when digitizing their visual communication. The R-series inherits Barco’s Infinipix image processing platform, providing a straightforward web-based interface that enables display configuration, control, monitoring, and maintenance. Currently offered with a 10 mm pixel pitch, the outdoor-rated R10 is the first model of the digital media canvas family that’s being introduced, and it will be shipping from Q3 2016 onwards.

PixelFlex ReFLEXion LED Video Display

PixelFlex’s freestanding and Wi-Fi enabled reFLEXion is a lightweight, portable and customizable LED video display solution that allows users to promote your message wherever needed. A dynamic replacement for traditional static and backlit signage, the reFLEXion LED stand is a self-contained 2.5mm pitch/resolution video display with a sleek design for easy mobility throughout any space.

With a standard IEC power connection, its Wi-Fi connectivity allows for convenient networking and content updating to maximize the viewer experience, and its magnetic modules allow for easy onsite service. Using the Nova control system, the reFLEXion LED stand is customizable with multiple base options including a freestanding weighted base, a kickstand base, a rotator stand, and wall-mount options as well. The LED display of reFLEXion can be further customized to a specific size with an assortment of color aluminum frame options, plus it can create seamless right angles to wrap around 90 degree corners wherever needed.

NanoLumens Visualization Center Las Vegas

NanoLumens didn’t bring a lot to the booth at InfoComm 2016. Visitors met intimately with NanoLumens staff in a small room with a display that shuffled between multiple examples of the company’s custom displays. The reason was that just down the street from the InfoComm show floor was the third permanent multi-million dollar Visualization Center. The new 7,700 square-foot state-of-the-art facility showcases NanoLumens’ entire line of various pixel pitch indoor and outdoor LED solutions, including the recently introduced Outdoor Performance and Outdoor Gallery Series of displays. It also offers on-site visualization associates who are ready to discuss specific projects, provide side-by-side display comparisons, and generate recommendations as to how to best turn a dream into a visual reality. The official launch of the Visualization Center took place at InfoComm 2016.

DVIGear’s DN-100 Series

DVIGear’s DN-100 Series includes the DN-100TX transmitter, which accepts multiple sources, including HDMI with HDCP, as well as analog stereo audio, and control signals such as IR, RS-232 and Ethernet. The DN-100 Series packetizes all of these signals into a single 10GbE link without any any type of codec, and the products distribute these signals throughout a system via a 10Gbe network switch. Utilizing a single Cat-6/Cat-7 cable run enables the distribution of A/V signals as far as 328 feet. The DN-100 series is also capable of distributing 4K UltraHD video at 30fps (4:4:4) and 4K at 60fps (4:2:0), and the DN-100 Series can be used for a variety of applications that range from digital signage to matrix A/V installations.

SiliconCore LED Displays

All SiliconCore LED displays measure between 1500 and 2000 nits of brightness, about double many other manufacturers’ brightest offerings. They also use less power to generate that brightness, which leads to less stress and less degradation of the image on the screen, says Nicos Syrimis, senior VP of business development. They spec their displays to last 100,000 hours but they typically last longer, he says. Among the new offerings are Camellia, a 0.95mm-pixel pitch 4K display that measures 12 feet by 6.5 feet and has a 2000-nit maximum brightness, and the Tulip 3.9mm-pixel pitch outdoor display, which has a 4500-nit maximum brightness and is ideal for viewing at about 25-30 feet.

Global Outdoor Concepts' Mirage Vision Jumbo Outdoor Theater

Global Outdoor Concepts unveiled its Mirage Vision Jumbo Outdoor Theater, a display that ranges from 115 to 212 inches and features a 1.5mm pixel pitch, built-in stereo, anti-glare technology and 16 fan motors in the back. The screen, which is portable, can be rolled across any flat surface and set up at hotels, next to pools or other public spaces. It has an optional touchscreen capability.

Delta Displays' 2x2 140-inch 8K video wall

Delta Displays introduced its 2x2 140-inch 8K video wall, which is built on the 70-inch diagonal 4K laser cube. The setup is ideal for control rooms for large energy companies, government agencies and telecommunications operations.

Panasonic's entry-level digital signage displays

Panasonic is rolling out a series of entry-level digital signage displays, including a 75- and 84-inch version. The displays can run for about 16 hours a day and will be available later this summer.

SunBriteTV 49-inch Pro Series Outdoor Display

Front and center at SunBrite’s InfoComm 2016 booth was its new 49-inch Pro Series ruggedized outdoor display model. With this addition, the robust Pro Series now offers 13 different displays ranging from 32 to 84 inches. The SB-4917HD, among the first new SunBriteTV products since the outdoor AV manufacturer was acquired by SnapAV in late 2015, offers an identical price point but significant upgrades over the 47” Pro Series display it replaces, including a thinner bezel and a larger media bay featuring self-powered media ports. It’s available for $4,295 MSRP.

Exterity's ArtioSign

Answering customers’ demands for signage integrated as part of its IPTV video distribution system, Exterity’s ArtioSign, an integrated digital signage set-top box solution, was showcased at InfoComm 2016. When integrated with Exterity’s IP video solutions, ArtioSign enables live TV and video to be incorporated into digital signage screens.

“There’s been an increasing demand from our customers to provide signage integrated as part of the IPTV video distribution system so we’ve added ArtioSign to our portfolio, which allows us to take one of our receiver devices and allows it to be essentially flipped between pure IPTV video distribution and signage mode where the stream real estate can be used for a variety of purposes over and above just the delivery of video,” says Colin Farquhar, CEO of Exterity.

Absen Inc. N Series Permanent Indoor Displays

Absen Inc. showcased its N Series permanent indoor displays, boasting 1,100 nits of brightness. The displays are only 2” thick and are used for a variety of purposes from control rooms to broadcasting. The N Series cabinet design allows for easy installation and creative application, and comes equipped with wireless device monitoring with live performance and failure detection.

RHODIUM BY AESON

RHODIUM by AESON is Aeson’s patented LED cabinet design.

Unique to Aeson, RHODIUM BY AESON’s cabinet has a native 16:9 aspect ratio. If a screen is purchased with the same number of horizontal and vertical cabinets, the entire screen will have a 16:9 aspect ratio.

A RHODIUM BY AESON LED video screen has the unique ability to be easily accessed from either the front or the rear for servicing. The frame can be suspended, wall mounted, recessed or ground supported.

The patented design allows for the internal connection of power and data cables. As a result that the back of the cabinet is flat and is ideal for wall mounting.

Exxact Video Wall Controllers

Exxact’s video wall controllers allow users to capture, scale and manage on-sreen content across multiple displays. With comprehensive software installed, Exxact video wall controllers aim to help users easily manage content and information across multiple screens.

Key features of Exxact’s video controllers are its video source switching/compositing, remote content management using an IP address, and support of up to 54 inputs/outputs and multiple management desktop. Exxact’s video wall controllers are most often used in the government and education markets.

Philip's CMND Display Management Platform

With the CMND display management platform, users can manage their full suite of displays from a central location. CMND also allows users to update, create and push out content all on one platform with CMND & Create. CMND & Control allows users to manage settings, schedule firmware updates and more.

CMND also helps users engage their customers in real time by distributing content immediately based on customers’ habits.

Digital displays are perhaps the most captivating technologies showcased on the InfoComm show floor, but it was their new capabilities, software and features that were truly impressive at this year’s show.

PixelFlex’s ReFLEXion LED Video Display, for example, is freestanding, Wi-Fi enabled, lightweight, portable and customizable, allowing users to promote their messages wherever needed.

Beyond just the hardware, important management technology such as Exxact’s video wall controllers allow users to capture, scale and manage on-sreen content across multiple displays. With comprehensive software installed, Exxact video wall controllers aim to help users easily manage content and information across multiple screens.

Similarly, Philip’s new CMND display management platform allows users to manage their full suite of displays from a central location. Users can also update, create and push out content all on one platform with CMND & Create. With CMND & Control, users can manage settings and schedule firmware updates.

InfoComm had plenty of new innovative digital signage and display technologies that were not only visually impressive, but also offered new capabilities and features that allow for easier management and distribution of video content.
