IT is Begging for Better Management of The UC&C Environment

A meeting technology management support platform from a global collaboration leader may be the answer to IT's headaches.

UC&C Management

It’s no secret that the use of videoconferencing and other unified communication and collaboration (UC&C) apps has exploded over the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and shift to remote work that came as a result.

Platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Google Meet and others have reported huge increases in users and adoption as organizations sought out easy-to-deploy, cloud-based software to help remote workers stay connected. However, the remote work experiment is now morphing into hybrid work that prioritizes flexibility over where employees work.

That means office spaces must be equipped with robust videoconferencing and collaboration technologies that are intuitive and easy to use.

However, IT has already had a long and arduous past two years supporting remote work while responding to the massive number of cyberthreats that are exploiting the increased exposure that came as a result of distributed work.

And those very tools that helped organizations adapt to remote work are actually a pain point for IT. According to a recent survey from cybersecurity firm NETSCOUT, UC&C-related helpdesk tickets now make up more than half of all helpdesk tickets for a large number of organizations.

According to that study, 43% of organizations say over half of their helpdesk tickets relate to UC&C issues.

However, nearly all (98%) respondents also indicated that those tools are absolutely vital to their organization’s hybrid work policies.

Given the issues associated with supporting that critical hybrid work technology, organizations need a platform that can help them manage those tools and ensure virtual meetings are effective, without leading to even more helpdesk tickets.

That’s why global collaboration service provider AVI-SPL offers Symphony, an administration, monitoring, controlling and analysis platform for multi-vendor AV, UC and meeting environments.

The platform provides an integrated, end-to-end collaboration workflow for end users, operators and IT that includes automated workflows, customization based on the organization’s terminology and nomenclature, and actionable intelligence to give IT and helpdesk professionals the data they need to optimize hybrid work technology.

To learn more about Symphony, tune into a live demonstration of the platform on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. ET.
