Every year at Enterprise Connect, companies show off the latest and greatest in communications products.
This year was no different, with over 100 exhibitors setting up booths with everything from hardware to software to as-a-service solutions.
The name of the game this year really seemed to be interoperability. Companies are beginning to understand that not every customer is going to be able to start from scratch. Some have legacy systems. Some use different communications providers in different offices. It’s not always as simple as starting a conference of collaboration meeting for the end user.
Instead of forcing end users to choose, companies are making it easier for communications products to work together. These companies are understanding that not every customer videoconferencing in is going to be working with Skype for Business or BlueJeans or Zoom. Any videoconference between more than one company could contain more than one platform.
That’s why many companies this year announced the ability to communicate between systems. You no longer have to have an Office 365 room, for example – Microsoft can now communicate with different systems easily with no setup from the end user.
Other companies are doing the same. Things seem to be getting a lot easier for the end user. Instead of companies forcing them to make systems work together, the manufacturers are making sure systems work together from the jump.
In that vein, here are 16 communications products you should know about from Enterprise Connect 2017.
