In this episode of My TechDecisions podcast, Associate Editor Zachary Comeau talks to Joel Wallenstrom, CEO of encrypted messaging platform Wickr. The company is touting its end-to-end encryption, videoconferencing capabilities and how Wickr is a viable alternative to other more popular platforms.
According to Wallenstrom, Wickr’s usage has exploded due to COVID-19 and remote work, with many of its clients coming from federal government and large enterprises that value security. The platform has also been helpful for frontline workers fighting against the spread of the virus and other mission-critical uses.
Wallenstrom says Wickr adds a level of security and privacy that other platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx and others don’t provide. He also opines on Zoom’s security issues and data-sharing practices, as well as the unified communication and collaboration industry as a whole.
