Boyertown Area School District in Pennsylvania has partnered with Safety Vision, LLC, to implement camera systems on all district school buses. The move is meant to increase student safety, making it a top priority for the school district through maintenance of bus safety in transit. In total, 185 buses will be outfitted with complete camera systems from Safety Vision.
Boyertown Area School District is the 45th largest out of 787 in Pennsylvania according to PDE 2018-2019 Enrollment Reports. The push for increased security is a major focus for the school district, with so many students in transit multiple times daily.
“Our Student Advisory Council and Parent Advisory Council spoke and we listened. They asked us to make sure we have camera systems on as many buses as possible to help increase student safety, and that is what we are doing to not only increase safety but to also help us become more efficient and effective,” says Dr. Bedden, Boyertown Area School District Superintendent. “Safety Vision’s mobile cameras are designed with the school bus in mind and their responsiveness to helping us determine how to get the biggest ROI while not sacrificing quality has been invaluable during this process. The wide-view camera systems being deployed for next school year on 185 vehicles will provide us with complete interior coverage with an HD quality picture.”
One of the main reason’s Boyertown Area School District went with Safety Vision is the budget-concious Evergreen Program, which provides a fair amount of ROI along with the implementation. The program provides a five-year advanced replacement warranty with spare parts and the benefit of knowing how much cameras will cost over the next five years. The district also has the option to refresh its fell at the end of the five-year program.
Safety Vision will be installing Observer 4000 Hybrid Video Recorders, AHD Wide View cameras, and the 41 HD camera series, with recorders integrated with Synovia software to save the district money by bypassing data plans and wireless network technology.
