Vicon Industries announces the availability of its new line of HD analog cameras that deliver 1080p full HD video over conventional coaxial cable.
With no new cabling required to upgrade to HD analog technology, the company says the new cameras are as easy to install as traditional analog security cameras and serve to bridge the gap and give a high-definition solution to those with an analog system already in place.
The cameras are available in dome, bullet and box form factors, and are said to be appropriate for a wide range of applications in all lighting conditions.
All cameras feature motion detection, privacy masking, true wide-dynamic- range, backlight compensation and automatic white balance. The bullet and dome models also include a 2.8-12 mm varifocal lens.
The new analog surveillance cameras can be used in conjunction with Vicon’s 16-channel H.264 ONVIF video encoder, which converts the video output from these cameras into a digital stream for transmission over an IP network.
“Vicon’s commitment to delivering end-to end security solutions means providing a range of camera options that best fit the varied needs and budgets of our customers. For those wishing to make use of an existing coaxial infrastructure, our HD analog cameras can provide a cost-effective approach to accessing IP video technology and its benefits,” says Bret McGowan, Vicon’s senior vice president, sales and marketing.
