BotNet Sends 5 Million Emails per Hour to Spread Ransomware
The Necurs botnet is spreading ransomware through a massive email campaign, at the rate of 5 million emails per hour across the world.
The Jaff file-encrypting ransomware is similar to the Locky ransomware. It is demanding $3,150 in Bitcoins to unlock files and infected computers. The malware is attached to a PDF document which, when clicked, opens an embedded Word document with a malicious macro script.
