98% of DaFont Passwords Cracked in Cyber Attack
Font sharing site DaFont.com has been hacked, exposing its entire database of user accounts.
Over 98 percent of user passwords were unscrambled into plain text, as the site used the MD5 algorithm, which is easy to crack for modern hackers. Usernames, email addresses and hashed passwords of almost 700,000 user accounts were stolen in the breach.
The hacker explained to ZDNet that the breach was carried out “mainly just for the challenge” and “training my pentest skills.”
