Google Pays Student $10k for Hacking Google Server
Google has rewarded Ezequiel Pereira with a $10,000 bug bounty after the Uruguayan highschooler came across a vulnerability that allowed coaxing one of the company’s back-end servers into granting attackers access to confidential data.
While toying with Google services, the highschooler discovered that using vulnerability scanner Burp Suite to modify the host header made it possible to enter some internal applications. Pereira realized that the website’s security measures weren’t properly set up. He was able to get in without a username and was taken to a confidential page. That is when he reported the bug and got the bounty.
