PCs with Intel Server Chipsets Hacked Remotely

A critical vulnerability in remote management features on computers with Intel processors for the past seven years could allow attackers to take control of the computer remotely.

The critical flaw was discovered by researchers, but since the vulnerability is highly critical and will take weeks for sysadmins to fix, the team has not yet disclosed technical details.

An advisory published by Intel says the bug resides in the Intel Management Engine (ME) technologies such as Active Management Technology (AMT), Small Business Technology (SBT), and Intel Standard Manageability (ISM).
