
Hackers Steal $800,000 from ATMs with Malware
Russian hackers have stolen $800,000 in one night by hacking at least 8 ATMs.
CCTV footage showed a single person collecting cash from ATMs without touching them.
Bankers from the affected ATMs found two files containing malware logs on the ATM hard drives – “Take the Money Bitch!” and “Dispense Success.”
According to researchers, the attacks against were carried out using a fileless malware that resides solely in the memory (RAM) of the infected ATMs.
