Tech Data Corp. has added Internet of Things products from NEXIONA to its cloud solutions store.

Effective today, partners of the Clearwater, Fla.-based distributor in the U.S. and Europe who wish to offer NEXIONA tools for composing and operating IoT solutions to their customers can manage the entire sales cycles from initial purchase to license renewal online via Tech Data’s StreamOne cloud e-commerce platform.

“IoT is one of the top areas of focus for many of our partners’ customers,” said Colin Blair, vice president of data analytics and Internet of Things at Tech Data, in a press statement. “The addition of NEXIONA to our Tech Data Cloud Solutions portfolio provides our partners with the broad set of tools they need to be successful in meeting the diverse needs of their customers.”

NEXIONA solutions support more than 60 machine-to-machine and IoT protocols and communication technologies, and feature a service-oriented architecture designed to integrate with the IBM Watson IoT and Microsoft Azure IoT Hub cloud services. Tech Data has been offering NEXIONA’s MIIMETIQ EDGE product, which combines IoT gateway software with Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series hardware, since October of last year.

“To unlock the value of IoT, system integrators and solution providers need a way to quickly design, prototype, and turn new ideas into value-driving IoT applications,” said Victor Paradell, vice president of Tech Data’s Smart IoT & Analytics practice in EMEA, in prepared remarks. “Delivering NEXIONA’s MIIMETIQ high-productivity application enablement platform through Tech Data’s StreamOne gives our partners an easy, fast and cost-effective way to start building their own IoT platforms—with full control over their data—and migrating to new, more profitable service delivery models.”

Tech Data established a specialized Internet of Things business group roughly a year ago, and announced a partnership with IoT vendor Panduit Corp. days later. More recently, the company has forged IoT alliances with Propel GPS LLC as well as Quantela Inc., iValu8 Inc., and Molex LLC.

The global Internet of Things platform market, which was worth nearly $1.8 billion last year according to Transparency Market Research, will climb past $10 billion in 2025.
