IT management provider SolarWinds is launching SolarWinds Observability, a new cloud-native, fully integrated SaaS offering designed to provide unified and comprehensive visibility for diverse IT environments.
The Austin, Texas-based firm says Observability provides visibility across distributed, hybrid and multi-cloud IT environments by leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to make it easier to manage complex IT environments.
According to SolarWinds, the Observability platform blends the company’s observability solutions across network, infrastructure, systems, applications, database, digital experience and log monitoring in one end-to-end solution across private and public clouds. With “single-pane-of-glass visibility,” Observability helps IT operations and DevOps teams, developers, cloud architects and IT executives to achieve optimum performance, compliance and resilience by providing actionable insights needed to identify and remediate issues.
The platform is designed to help organizations that are shifting to the cloud and adopting hybrid work models with new tech tools regain visibility over their IT environments, the company says.
SolarWinds bills Observability as the solution to the visibility problems associated with digital transformations, providing visibility into the complete environment and expediting anomaly identification and resolution. This allows IT teams to become more proactive and ensure optimal performance and superior user experience regardless of how distributed IT systems are, where they run or how often they change.
SolarWinds Observability is available as a cloud-native offering on both Azure and AWS clouds, the company says.
Sudhakar Ramakrishna, the SolarWinds’ CEO, calls Observability the company’s most impactful observability solution to date.
“We designed SolarWinds Observability to support every customer—regardless of where they are on their cloud journey—and to deliver simplicity, security, and great value to DevOps, SecOps, CloudOps, and IT Ops professionals,” Ramakrishna says.
Rohini Kasturi, chief product officer at SolarWinds, says the company is laying the foundation for autonomous operations through both monitoring and observability to solutions to empower customers to continue with their cloud and digital migrations.
“With our Hybrid Cloud Observability and SolarWinds Observability offerings, customers have ultimate flexibility to deploy on a private cloud, public cloud, or as a service,” Kasturi says. “We’re also simplifying our business model with node-based licensing and tier-based entitlements to support customers of all sizes.”
The company also announced a new version of its Hybrid Cloud Observability solution
That will now feature enhanced anomaly detection capabilities powered by AI and ML, enabling customers to migrate from on-premises to SaaS at their own pace, the company says.
SolarWinds says both Observability and Hybrid Cloud Observability were built on the company’s Secure by Design principles and a “rigorous adherence to an advanced, multi-layered security framework.” The launch of Observability and the additional features of Hybrid Cloud Observability are part of the company’s goal to introduce both SaaS and hybrid cloud observability solutions by the end of the year, a vision first shared by Ramakrishna in November 2021.
