When you think of salamanders, what comes to mind? Probably not AV furniture designers… And yet, Salamander Designs wants you to associate them with furniture that supports a range of commercial tech.
…Ok, the “Designs” part of the name gives it away. And that’s a critical part of the name, too, according to president and founder Sal Carrabba.
“We’re making AV furniture that supports the technology on the inside but looks great on the outside,” he says.
“Large corporate clients are trying to design new standards to deploy meeting spaces — Salamander furniture can support all the technology in a beautiful cabinet that also satisfies other stakeholders.”
Custom AND Repeatable
Sal says his company’s approach is to please three people at once with every piece of furniture:
- The Integrator: with an easy-to-install solution
- The Facility Manager: with a solution which doesn’t require wall openings or rewiring
- The Architect or Project Manager: with a furniture option that matches their planned aesthetic
Now that Salamander Designs has tapped the commercial market, Sal says they’re focused on rapidly-deployable AV furniture that integrates all technologies into the cabinet itself in an efficient process.
