Bryant University announced it will be undergoing major construction under the Bryant Builds initiative next year.
The construction will include a brand new campus entrance, and the addition of more than 250,000 square feet in facilities at the Smithfield campus and in Zhuhai, China.
According to a statement by Bryant University, the project details include:
•         New entrance and integrated landscape designed to enhance access to facilities on Bryant’s 435-acre Smithfield, RI campus
• 50,000 sq. ft. Academic Innovation Center, which will be funded with a lead gift of $5 million from an individual family (opening Fall 2016)
• Bulldog Strength and Conditioning Center to benefit the student-athletes on Bryant’s 22 NCAA Division I teams. This project has received more than $5 million in philanthropic support from Bryant alumni. (opening Summer 2015)
• 78,000 sq. ft. Indoor Practice Facility, featuring a 100 yard indoor turf field with support from a $2 million gift by William J. Conaty ’67, Chair of the Bryant University Board of Trustees
• Enhancements to the Elizabeth and Malcolm Chace Wellness and Athletic Center, including a Sports Medicine and Training Center
• Bryant University Zhuhai, joint venture with Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai campus; Bryant’s Chinese partners have invested 100 percent of the capital for this project
