Yamaha Professional Audio Line-Source Speaker Immerses Conference Rooms in Sound via Dante and PoE
Expanding its selection of VXL speakers, the new Yamaha Professional Audio VXL1-16P line-source speaker is designed to easily integrate into conference room environments.
Demonstrated as part of the diverse Yamaha InfoComm 2018 show activities in Las Vegas this past June 6-8, the VXL1-16P line-source speaker features built-in Dante digital audio and built-in PoE to make the speaker a turnkey solution for integrators.
Complementing the company’s latest speaker product, Yamaha Professional Audio also introduced the SWR2311P-10G half-rack 10-port 1Gbit enterprise-grade network switch. The company says the SWR2311P-10G eight ports are designed for PoE Dante applications.

More on the Yamaha InfoComm products from Joe Rimstidt, systems design engineer:
“This is a brand new, PoE Dante-based loudspeaker that we are offering.
“This [the VXL1-16P] is a line-column source with 16 11/2-inch Neodymium-based drivers [and a] built-in Dante interface. So a simple Ethernet cable with both your power and Dante connecting to the units makes for a very flexible and easy installation.”
High-capacity cards round out the Yamaha InfoComm offerings
Yamaha Commercial Audio also introduced a pair of high-capacity cards to extend the interface capabilities of its RIVAGE PM Series.
The cards provide up to 144 channels of integrated sample-rate conversion (SRC) to a range of Dante devices. The cards also support synchronous and non-synchronous configurations.
Five modes of operation can be employed through the cards:
- 144 inputs with SRC
- 144 outputs with SRC
- 72 inputs/outputs (I/O) with SRC
- 144 I/Os with synchronous SRC or 144 I/Os with no SRC
- HY128-MD provides up to 128 channels of MADI with SRC conversion via coax or optical interfacing
The HY144-D-SRC and HY128-MD RIVAGE high-capacity cards will be available later this year with an estimated arrival date in the fall. Learn more here.
