“The entertainment industry’s premier studio and equipment rental company” (LA Times) continues to build production facilities. CEO Mikel Elliott says the company is on track for record revenue growth.
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#hollywoodsoundstage–Quixote Studios CEO Mikel Elliott announced today that Quixote has opened eight new soundstages throughout the Los Angeles area. The expansion comes in the wake of record demand in the global film and television industry for premier content produced in state-of-the-art facilities. With these additional stages, Quixote will have a total of 24 top-tier stages in the greater Los Angeles area, catering to a combination of film, television, and commercial productions.
Five of the new stages are part of Quixote’s expanding North Valley Studios (“Q-NOVA”) in Pacoima. Opened in 2019 on a 10-acre parcel in the northern San Fernando Valley with 75,000 square feet of studio space and 20,000 square feet of office space, Q-NOVA will now have 10 sound stages, 60,000 square feet of office space, mills, tons of parking and support warehouses spanning 20 acres. ABC and Netflix have signed significant leases with several of the new stages.
Also opening in the North Valley are two stages that Quixote has completed in Sylmar. This private, stand alone facility includes two 25,000 square foot stages and 25,000 square feet in office space. The final stage opening is targeted for television commercial production near Quixote’s main West Hollywood production hub in what Quixote is calling “Phase III” of its growth strategy. In all, the eight stages Quixote is adding equal an additional 220,000 square feet of stage and production office space in the Los Angeles market.
Elliott, Quixote’s Founder and CEO, said, “Quixote is experiencing record growth in revenues and operating income, and we are investing strategically in the Los Angeles market — which is the global capital of movie, television and TV advertising content. We are also increasing our investment in equipment and transportation to support these stages, which will enable Quixote to further enhance its high-touch service offering.”
In addition to its ongoing investments in organic growth, Quixote has also completed several strategic acquisitions recently. In February 2022, Quixote took over Chandler Valley Center Studios, the iconic stage home of the hit TV series The Office. In October 2021, Quixote acquired The Production Truck (TPT), the industry-leading provider of production equipment rentals based in Burbank and Atlanta. Other recent additions to the Quixote portfolio through acquisition include Studio 1001 (now Quixote’s Stage 5 in West Hollywood), as well as communications company Hudson Radios and One Drop Rentals, both based in New York City.
