Brookville One Step Closer to Gaining MetroNet’s Certified Gigabit City Status

December 13, 2021 TechDecisions Staff

MetroNet Begins Construction on Brookville’s 100% Fiber Optic Network

BROOKVILLE, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MetroNet today announced that construction has begun on its ultra-high-speed 100 percent fiber optic infrastructure in Brookville, Ohio. MetroNet, the nation’s largest independently owned, 100 percent fiber optic provider, is fully funding the multimillion-dollar investment that will provide Brookville residents and businesses with access to future-proof internet infrastructure. Upon completion of the network installation, Brookville will be named a Certified Gigabit City with MetroNet’s services.

Construction activity has begun near Hunter’s Run, next to Golden Gate Park, and will expand rapidly with the first customers able to receive service in the summer of 2022. As construction continues throughout the community, customers may sign up for presale, which will indicate their interest and prioritize installation when available. Those interested in MetroNet services may visit www.MetroNetInc.com/signup to receive construction updates, access presale information and check when their address is available for installation.

“As MetroNet continues construction throughout our community, we are nearing a positive change where our businesses and residents will have access to world-class internet speeds,” said Mayor Chuck Letner. “MetroNet’s multimillion-dollar investment will set Brookville apart, while boosting the quality of our online lives and small business sector.”

“MetroNet is proud to have the opportunity to provide residents and businesses with future-proof, 100 percent fiber optic internet that will enhance the way they live and learn,” said John Cinelli, MetroNet CEO. “Brookville will be a part of hundreds of communities across the U.S. that have access to speeds as fast as light and quality service and support that will promote continued economic development.”

MetroNet brings fiber directly to homes and businesses in underserved communities in America with affordable, symmetrical speeds up to 10 Gigabits with no long-term contracts. The company expects its network to be available to more than one million residential households and business locations in the near term, providing more service options to hundreds of communities.

Residents in construction areas will receive communication by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to beginning and the company provides additional messaging, such as yard signs, to let residents know when the temporary construction process is beginning in their neighborhood. MetroNet crews are marked by ID tags and branded vehicles.

MetroNet is one of the fastest-growing providers of fiber optic high-speed services in the nation and is known for its outstanding customer service provided by a strong local presence. Residents and businesses that are interested in MetroNet services may also visit construction.metronetinc.com to indicate their interest and to receive updates on construction in their area.
