Florence Health Partners with athenahealth to Scale its Risk-based Primary Care Platform for Medicare Patients

WATERTOWN, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–athenahealth, Inc., a leading provider of network-enabled software and services for medical groups and health systems nationwide, today announced that Florence Health, a technology-enabled, fully risk-bearing Primary Care Provider, will leverage athenaOne® as the foundation for its medical documentation, patient engagement, and practice management capabilities.

Florence Health, which will enter 2022 fully at risk for more than 25,000 Medicare patients and with annual revenues of over $350 million, selected athenahealth for its interoperability, efficient clinician workflows, and embedded intelligence to help Florence Health better serve patients in both value-based and fee-for-service environments. As part of the partnership, Florence Health will integrate athenahealth into its proprietary data and application stack in an effort to drive quality and performance across both the premier Florence Clinics that it owns and operates, as well as its affiliated provider program with independent providers of all specialties. The flexibility of athenahealth’s solutions and the ability to enable its own R&D initiatives were key to Florence Health’s decision.
