Planar’s Additions to Clarity Matrix LCD Video Wall System

Planar is calling its Clarity Matrix MX55HDX (shown), which it unveiled at InfoComm 2016, the LCD video wall display with the industry’s smallest tiled bezel. When tiled together to create a video wall, the 55-inch Clarity Matrix MX55HDX provides a tiled bezel width of 1.6 millimeters

It also added the Clarity Matrix LX46HDU-3D, an LCD video wall solution for customers seeking a large format stereoscopic display for professional 3D visualization applications, particularly universities, design firms, manufacturers and government customers seeking a large-format stereo 3D visualization display. Customers can utilize passive glasses to analyze 3D models and data or they can use the video wall as a collaborative work space for standard 2D content.

SunBriteTV 49-inch Pro Series Outdoor Display

Front and center at SunBrite’s InfoComm 2016 booth was its new 49-inch Pro Series ruggedized outdoor display model. With this addition, the robust Pro Series now offers 13 different displays ranging from 32 to 84 inches. The SB-4917HD, among the first new SunBriteTV products since the outdoor AV manufacturer was acquired by SnapAV in late 2015, offers an identical price point but significant upgrades over the 47” Pro Series display it replaces, including a thinner bezel and a larger media bay featuring self-powered media ports. It’s available for $4,295 MSRP.

Sony's Crystal LED Integrated Structure (CLEDIS)

At InfoComm 2016, Sony highlighted its display capabilities in a big way, re-defining the landscape for large-scale visual entertainment. Its new Crystal LED Integrated Structure (CLEDIS) technology uses Sony’s ultrafine LEDs in a unique surface mounting structure as its light source to deliver a visual experience not possible with even the highest-end conventional LED array.

The self-emitting display technology uses R (red), G (green), and B (blue) ultrafine LEDs mounted on the display surface, with each pixel emitting light independently. Each pixel is only 0.003 mm2 in size, allowing the remaining surface area to be more than 99% black.

The canvas has a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 (1000 nits), and will support High Dynamic Range (HDR) content, producing imagery with 10-bit color depth and a wide color gamut (approximately 140 percent of sRGB).

According to the company, the new display technology is designed for commercial applications and immersive experiences, from industrial product design and manufacturing, theme parks, museums, and high-traffic lobbies to corporate boardrooms and broadcast studios – any environment requiring realistic simulation on a large scale and detailed video displays.

Screen Innovations (SI) Zero-G

SI first showed its unique retractable screen technology at the CEDIA 2015 residential trade event this past fall. Updating the product’s design, SI has reengineered the screen’s tab tension system to ensure the screen rolls up flatter with more overall system fluency. SI adds the Zero-G rollup screen system will be available with screen sizes up to 200 inches for front- and rear-projection applications.

Stewart Filmscreen 16K

Reinforcing its reputation as a top-level manufacturer, the Calif.-based company is educating dealers on the manufacturing processes it uses to meet government and military work through its 16K initiative. This no nonsense education program explains how the company’s screens are designed to meet resolution requirements well beyond 4K to deliver resolutions up to 16K. The screens meet this high number through a requirement that results in its screens measuring six line pairs (one line each of black and white) per millimeter of resolution. Stewart says the math for this equates to a 120-inch screen delivering the capability to display more than 18,000 pixel addresses (3,048mm x 6 lines).

LG 86 Inch Ultra Stretch Display

Ultra Stretch is LG’s new signage format with a 58:9 widescreen that can display dynamic content depending on the user’s installation environment. This product is also a work of structural art in itself that can be seen as digital decor. The Picture-by-Picture (PBP) feature allows users to divide a screen into four parts in landscape or portrait installations. With the LG SuperSign media editor, users can easily edit images or video clips of original content without any additional editing programs. Users can edit content that consists of one video and up to 20 still images. Ultra Stretch supports lateral tiling for 1x4 or 4x1 installations (landscape or portrait), and up to a 4x4 installation with a daisy chain configuration.

Absen Inc. N Series Permanent Indoor Displays

Absen Inc. showcased its N Series permanent indoor displays, boasting 1,100 nits of brightness. The displays are only 2” thick and are used for a variety of purposes from control rooms to broadcasting. The N Series cabinet design allows for easy installation and creative application, and comes equipped with wireless device monitoring with live performance and failure detection.

Leyard TWA Series

In the first InfoComm since Leyard acquired Planar, the brands were quick to flex their expanded product development. Leyard TWA Series of fine-pitch LED video walls made its debut at InfoComm 2016, touting low power consumption and outstanding video quality. Models are available now with 1.2 millimeter pixel pitch and later this year in 1.8.

Meanwhile, Leyard and Planar may have grabbed more eyeballs than any other exhibitor at InfoComm 2016 by displaying the TWA Series in an 8K installation of 64 individual Leyard TWA Series 1.2 millimeter pixel pitch displays. Countless InfoComm attendees posed for photos in front of the larger-than-life screen, which often displayed beach scenes—no doubt sending the realistic pics back home to make loved ones jealous.

SiliconCore LED Displays

All SiliconCore LED displays measure between 1500 and 2000 nits of brightness, about double many other manufacturers’ brightest offerings. They also use less power to generate that brightness, which leads to less stress and less degradation of the image on the screen, says Nicos Syrimis, senior VP of business development. They spec their displays to last 100,000 hours but they typically last longer, he says. Among the new offerings are Camellia, a 0.95mm-pixel pitch 4K display that measures 12 feet by 6.5 feet and has a 2000-nit maximum brightness, and the Tulip 3.9mm-pixel pitch outdoor display, which has a 4500-nit maximum brightness and is ideal for viewing at about 25-30 feet.

Samsung DM-E Series 82" Edge-Lit LED E-Board Display

Samsung’s DM82E-BR is a ready-to-use, all-in-one E-Board display solution. The 82-inch display includes a pre-assembled touch overlay. The embedded System-on-Chip (SoC) media player and E-Board software makes it portable, flexible and easy to set up. And with a full range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi for seamless connection to mobile devices, you can meet your institution’s specific presentation needs.

RHODIUM BY AESON

RHODIUM by AESON is Aeson’s patented LED cabinet design.

Unique to Aeson, RHODIUM BY AESON’s cabinet has a native 16:9 aspect ratio. If a screen is purchased with the same number of horizontal and vertical cabinets, the entire screen will have a 16:9 aspect ratio.

A RHODIUM BY AESON LED video screen has the unique ability to be easily accessed from either the front or the rear for servicing. The frame can be suspended, wall mounted, recessed or ground supported.

The patented design allows for the internal connection of power and data cables. As a result that the back of the cabinet is flat and is ideal for wall mounting.

Apollo Enclosure's AE6560 Display Enclosure

Apollo Enclosures showcased its AE6560 Display Enclosure at this year’s show, designed to fit sizes 60” to 65” Slim LED/LCD TVs. The enclosure’s anti-reflective safety glass reduces reflectivity and increases constrast ratio.

Apollo Enclosures are designed for simple installation and include a weatherproof mount for a complete environmental solution. The AE6560 Display Enclosure is ideal for volume or high-use applications in the commercial market.

Panasonic's entry-level digital signage displays

Panasonic is rolling out a series of entry-level digital signage displays, including a 75- and 84-inch version. The displays can run for about 16 hours a day and will be available later this summer.

Delta Displays' 2x2 140-inch 8K video wall

Delta Displays introduced its 2x2 140-inch 8K video wall, which is built on the 70-inch diagonal 4K laser cube. The setup is ideal for control rooms for large energy companies, government agencies and telecommunications operations.

Global Outdoor Concepts' Mirage Vision Jumbo Outdoor Theater

Global Outdoor Concepts unveiled its Mirage Vision Jumbo Outdoor Theater, a display that ranges from 115 to 212 inches and features a 1.5mm pixel pitch, built-in stereo, anti-glare technology and 16 fan motors in the back. The screen, which is portable, can be rolled across any flat surface and set up at hotels, next to pools or other public spaces. It has an optional touchscreen capability.

Just when it seems like displays can’t get any brighter, thinner, sleeker or overall more innovative, manufacturers seem to always find a way to introduce displays with new designs and features that make them even more impressive than the last.

Planar, for example, introduced its Clarity Matrix MX55HDX LCD video wall, which features the industry’s smallest tiled bezel. When tiled together to create a video wall, the 55-inch Clarity Matrix MX55HDX provides a tiled bezel width of 1.6 millimeters.

In the first InfoComm since Leyard acquired Planar, Leyard showcased its TWA Series of fine-pitch LED video walls, touting low power consumption and outstanding video quality. Models are available now with 1.2 millimeter pixel pitch and later this year in 1.8.

SiliconCore LED displays are also making waves, measuring between 1500 and 2000 nits of brightness, about double many other manufacturers’ brightest offerings. They also use less power to generate that brightness, which leads to less stress and less degradation of the image on the screen, according to Nicos Syrimis, senior VP of business development.
