SiliconCore LED displays have gained a reputation in A/V as a different kind of LED product — and if you’ve ever started researching for an LED-related RFP, you’ll know how much competition they have.
“SiliconCore brings a lot to the table that other LED manufacturers don’t,” says Jim Wickenhiser, SVP, Strategic Initiatives. “We’re a tech company first and a display company second.”
That positions the company at a strategic place in the downright expansive InfoComm 2019LED marketplace. Let’s look at some of the features the company displayed this week at , the North American A/V trade show:
SiliconCore LED displays come pre-configured
Each of the EZ-HD series displays comes pre-configured and is able to be installed by two integrators in about 3 hours — a “huge deal” to the industry, according to Wickenhiser.
“From the beginning, every design decision we’ve made for EZ-HD has been focused towards easing the integration process of fine pixel pitch LED display within the channel, especially for corporate applications.
LISA integration means fewer service calls
The EZ-HD series is comprised of three display with sizes of 110”, 130” and 165” diagonal, and features SiliconCore’s LISA technology – a proprietary surface protection layer that guard the LEDs from contact (or impact) damage, without compromising brightness.
LISA can also be applied to any of SiliconCore’s sub 2mm pixel pitch products, which InfoComm visitors witnessed in an impressive 220” 4K 1.2mm pixel pitch display showcased at their booth.
They make their own driver chip
Wickenhiser says another differentiation point SiliconCore LED displays have is that the company makes its own processing chip.
“They can run brighter and longer with that chip while remaining cool – other manufacturers’ displays are hot, yet ours stay cool. Our driver chip allows this,” he says.
