Roland Professional A/V is updating its multi-format switcher lineup and unveiling its XS-1HD Multi-Format Matrix Switcher at InfoComm 2017 where the company will also show off a “Mark II” version of its V-800HD Multi-Format Video Switcher.

The XS-1HD, a compact multi-format matrix switcher that combines the power of the XS AV Matrix Series and the size and features of the V-1 video switcher series, according to a press release.

The XS-1HD provides multi-screen output destinations for conference monitor, main and side screens and overflow rooms. The rather diminutive XS-1HD features four HDMI inputs with scalers and scaled outputs, all while measuring just under 13 inches x 4.5 inches x 1.4 inches in size.

It is power-packed with professional live production tools that include keying and picture-in-picture effects with full HD support.

More from Roland’s Press Release on XS-1HD Multi-Format Matrix Switcher:

The XS-1HD accepts a variety of video signals from sources such as cameras, computers, and media players ideal for corporate production, worship and rental applications. The XS-1HD is equally at home in banquet venues, halls, theaters, or e-learning studios that use multiple output destinations to displays, accurate pixel scaling for LED Walls and projectors. Complex systems that would otherwise require touch panels, video switchers, audio mixers, and control panels can be implemented using just the XS-1HD, which simplifies production and streamlines workflows. Event setups can be recalled from scene memories, and the USB memory stores switcher setting as well as still images.

Frame synchronization and scaling are provided on all inputs. The high-quality 4:4:4/10-bit processing accommodates resolutions up to WUXGA/1080p. In addition to matrix switching, a split mode allows up to three inset windows to be composited into a background video for picture-in-picture applications (PinP), while switcher mode affords seamless transition between videos, or PinP or key-compositing, with multi-view preview for real-time operation.

Two-channels of line level audio input and output are provided through RCA jacks. Audio can be mixed internally with HDMI audio via the built-in mixer. Audio embedding and de-embedding is supported, with delay control for lip-sync adjustments.

For installed and live production applications, the XS-1HD supports HDCP video signals from Blu-ray or smartphone, RS-232 for controls from PC or touch panels, or EDID to auto-configure output resolutions in smart displays. Test pattern generation simplifies display and monitor configuration.

The XS-1HD will debut at InfoComm in Orlando, June 14 through 16, at booth 4053. The XS-1HD will be available in July, priced at $2495 U.S. MSRP. To learn more, visit http://proav.roland.com/global/products/xs-1hd/.

Meanwhile, based on direct feedback from end users and system designers, the Roland’s  “Mark II” version of its popular V-800HD Multi-Format Video Switcher includes new dedicated switches for AUX source selection offering enhanced visibility and operability, in addition to sleek interface redesign, according to a press release.

An advanced keyer lets users adjust phase range, the amount of chroma and other parameters based on the HSV color space that is closely related to human chromatic sensation – providing high quality and tight key compositions especially when using 1080p video sources.

More from Roland’s Press Release on “Mark II” Version V-800HD Multi-Format Video Switcher:

The Roland V-800HD MK II is a true multi-format video mixer with a dedicated scaler for every input, allowing for all different video resolutions to be switched at the same time. Most every type of digital and analog input is available, in video or computer format, and on the output side scalers allow for direct connection to LED walls without the need for external scaling devices.

A built-in HDMI multi-viewer provides a convenient monitoring solution. In addition to video channels, two channels are available for still images, which upload by USB memory stick or frame grab.

Ten assignable video cross-points allow the reordering of channel buttons. Multi-Zoom functionality can be enabled when one video input is shared internally with up to three more inputs. The scaler for each input can zoom into any position in the video image to give the appearance that additional cameras are connected, thus creating a virtual multi-camera environment.

The product will be available in June with at a price of $7995 USD MSRP.
