Kicking off the summer season, the video manufacturer Vivitek introduced several products in a busy InfoComm 2017 booth in Orlando this past June.

Vivitek announced its DK8500Z Sold-state laser phosphor UltraHD 4K (3840×2160) projector that is rated to produce as much as 7,500 lumens of brightness.

Designed for applications that include large venues, auditoriums, houses of worship and other similar types of installations, the DK8500K through its laser-phosphor light engine provides up to 20,000 hours of operational use.

Vivitek DK8500Z Offers More Than 4K

Looking past the growing adoption of UltraHD 4K, many customers are looking for more than just some projector that is capable of reproducing 4K content.

Combining the low-maintenance qualities of a laser-phosphor light engine, along with a 4K resolution via Texas Instruments’ (TI) DarkChip 3 chipset, the DK8500Z produces a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and video processing that yields fluid video streaming and 10-bit programmable RGB color adjustments.

Vivitek emphasizes the filterless, sealed light engine UltraHD 4K projector is also integrator-friendly and supports easy installations. Some of the dealer support options Vivitek include the choice of eight lens options, 360-degree landscape and portrait mode image orientation, vertical and horizontal lens shift, edge blend and custom warp capabilities.

The company also points out the DK8500Z projector includes a choice of two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.2 input; 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, and the HDBaseT A/V distribution platform to enable the product to accept any number of video formats, while integrating into state-of-the-art content distribution systems through its single Cat-5e/Cat-6 HDBaseT capabilities.

In addition, the Vivitek DK8500Z laser-phosphor 4K projector offers 12-volt triggers and RS-232 control options that further enhance its integration capabilities.

Moreover, the projector operates at just 40dB, which facilitates its placement in locations such as front or rear tabletop or ceiling installations.
