Optoma recently announced five new projectors “designed to bring high brightness, along with core dependability, adaptability and cutting-edge image technology into classrooms, corporate boardrooms and multipurpose offices,” according to the company press release.
The WU465, EH465, EH460ST, W460 and X460 “deliver super-bright, sharp and colorful images to a range of environments, including those with higher ambient light,” according to the announcement. Each of the Optoma projectors features a 15,000-hour lamp life.
- Optoma WU465 and Optoma EH465 feature super bright WUXGA and 1080p HD resolution projection with 4,800 lumens of brightness to shine in any environment. With a 20,000:1 contrast ratio, both projectors feature 4,800 lumens and a 1.5x zoom. Estimated street price (ESP) pricing is $1,299 and $1,199, respectively.
- Optoma EH460ST features 1080p HD resolution and strong brightness with a short throw ratio. With a 20,000:1 contrast ratio and 4,200 lumens, it projects an incredibly vivid, sharp and large 152-inch image from only 5.5-feet away. ESP pricing is $1,099.
- Optoma W460 and Optoma X460, featuring WXGA and XGA resolution respectively, deliver 20,000:1 contrast ratio and 1.2x zoom. The W460 projects 4,600 lumens of brightness, and the X460 4,500 lumens. They are available for ESP pricing of $849 and $799, respectively.
All of the new 460 and 465 models feature I/O support with 2xHDMI (with MHL), VGA-in/out, audio-in/out, RJ-45, USB reader and RS-232C.
These projectors also provide both USB display screen mirroring and wireless screen mirroring capabilities for Android, iOS, PC, Mac OS X and Windows devices, allowing users to connect any of their devices and engage with displayed content.
In addition, these Optoma projectors offer PC-free presentation capabilities, which allows for connectivity with USB storage devices for playback of audio, images and other files. The projectors also come equipped with a 10-watt speaker, which enhances presentations and media.
“When designing Optoma projectors for classrooms and corporate installations, we wanted to offer a number of high-brightness, PC-free options that deliver incredibly sharp images and allow for seamless, wireless media sharing and viewing,” said Brian Soto, head of product management.

The WU465, EH465, EH460ST, W460 and X460 are now available through Optoma authorized dealers and distributors.
