Long distance AV-over-IP networks offer huge benefits to tech professionals in a wide variety of sectors: education, healthcare, enterprise, entertainment, hospitality, house of worship, retail and more. By eliminating many of the challenges and hurdles distributing bandwidth intensive video without losing speed or quality, protocols like SDVoE (Software Defined Video Over Ethernet) are enabling pros to deploy AV networks that can handle today’s video distribution demands.
To bring professionals up to speed on the nuances of SDVoE, the SDVoE has launched an SDVoE Academy online learning platform, a series of free, self-paced online courses. The lessons are applicable to all industries.
“There is no question that the future of AV is network centric and that the pressure on individuals and organizations to adapt to the change has never been greater,” says Matt Dodd, CEO of Clavia Group, a company that helped develop the training courses. “We’re thrilled to capitalize on our track record in cognitive learning and training development and our AV integration experience in this collaboration with the SDVoE Alliance.”
“The SDVoE Alliance has delivered eye-opening training and education sessions around the world at tradeshows and our own World Tour events,” adds Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Now, through the SDVoE Academy, we can bring that same important content to a much wider audience. System designers, integrators, and end users can work at their own pace to discover how dimple it actually is to enjoy the flexibility and scalability of Ethernet while benefitting from the performance of a matrix switch – 4K video without compromise, without latency, and without image artifacts.”
People can start taking classes at any time, with any lesson that interests them. In addition to Networking Basics and Video Basics, there is one certification program active at this point–SDVoE Design Partner Certification–which consists of five lessons and an assessment. You can access the courses at https://academy.sdvoe.org/.
