Advanced Creates Video Wall Division with Integration Services

Advanced Videowall Group serves as a “one-stop-shop,” with the power and scope of a large systems integrator and the knowledge of a specialized video wall provider.

Advanced is absorbing its APG Displays sales and installation services and creating a new division it’s calling Advanced Videowall Group, about a year after spinning the rental business into APG Rentals.

The new division “combines the breadth and capabilities of the company’s systems integration unit with APG Displays’ unique specialist video wall skill set,” according to Advanced president David Weatherhead in an announcement of the new division. All APG Displays engineers, technicians and sales executives will be brought into Advanced Videowall Group.

“The Advanced Videowall Group brings a new type of business and a new level of expertise to the market — one that customers are asking for more and more every day,” Weatherhead said in the announcement. “Clients are no longer looking to purchase a standalone video wall. They frequently ask for a full suite of integration services, with the addition of other AV elements, such as control systems.

“By combining Advanced’s large integration programs with the specialized expertise of APG Displays, the Advanced Videowall Group offers this entirely new package for our clients,” he said.

Advanced created what it calls “the world’s first curved laser phosphor display video wall” for GE Digital Energy, and what it describes as “the world’s highest resolution LED video wall in broadcast” for CNN’s Washington, D.C., bureau.

“The demand for video walls is steadily growing,” said Weatherhead in the announcement. “Digital displays are becoming the centerpiece for businesses, event venues and broadcast studios across North America. This strategic combination of our resources will help us continue to provide the best quality video wall options for our customers.”

Weatherhead also oversees Projector Lamp Experts, which sells lamps to integrators. Advanced recently moved into a 30,000-square-foot facility just outside Toronto featuring an open concept and an 8,000-square-foot Customer Experience Center with five demo rooms, each with its own AV technology experience from basic digital signage to high-end video walls and everything in between.
