Florida A&M University opened a satellite campus in Crestview Florida. Pharmacy students can now take classes via a Cisco TelePresence unit. All lectures are recorded with the Cisco TelePresence Conference Server. Also included as distance learning technology are Shure lapel microphones, two LD HDTV Flat-screen TVs, and HD Epson projector and Polycom HDX Array ceiling microphones.

The University of Utah is advancing online course offerings through the building of its UOnline Center where a 112-computer subnet was created to allow for a controlled testing environment. The Center offers Lenovo ThinkCentre computers mounted beneath the desks with accompanying 19-inch Samsung LED-backlit screens. 22-inch screens are available for ADA compliance. Here, students take proctored online exams on computers that feature anti-cheating technology.
