The Massive Starfield Goyang Mall entertainment & shopping complex selects Absen LED to create the ultimate shopping experience.

The Tech Decision

Opened in the fall of 2017, Starfield Goyang Mall is the largest indoor shopping theme park in Korea’s northwestern area. Designed specifically to create a unique experience for the underserved residential area northwest of Seoul, South Korea, the mall covers 135,500 square meters featuring 560 global and domestic brands as well as 100 restaurants and eateries distributed in three food courts.

Starfield Goyang includes Shinsegae Department Store, wholesale discount store Emart Traders, Aquafield spa and water park facility, Sports Monster indoor sporting facility, a movie theater, and other entertainment facilities.

Starfield Goyang is located within 15-minute walking distance from Samsong Station on Seoul Subway Line 3, allowing visitors using public transportation to reach the mall easily. In addition, Starfield Goyang is designed with a 380-meter long skylight to provide natural lighting within the building and a built-in micro-dust filter system, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.

The Solution

Shenzhen Absen Optoelectronic Co. Ltd., which started in Shenzhen in 2001, is an integrated service provider in the LED display industry, offering mainly turnkey solutions to customers on LED display applications.

To keep with the entertainment environment, the mall leveraged the latest in LED display technology by Absen LED to create a breath-taking video wall in the large curved rotunda area of the mall. There visitors are engaged by a 50-foot high and a 24-foot wide curved video tower displaying various advertisements as well as customized content created by Montreal-based Moment Factory.

The Impact

There are over 30,000 successful customer references from 120+ countries and regions, Absen LED displays are shining in outdoor advertising billboards, business centers, shopping malls, sport stadiums, indoor and outdoor stages, exhibitions, TV stations, traffic signs and more.

The massive, towering video wall provides a unique and entertaining feature as shoppers and their family walk through the large rotunda area, stop by the customer service desk or experience various promotional events such as  Starbucks’ Decaf Zone.
