New Compact NVR from OpenEye

OpenEye says its MM-Series Cloud-managed NVR is a compact all-in-one solution designed to offer enterprise-class features at a low cost.

OpenEye, a provider of Cloud-managed video surveillance solutions, announces the release of the MM-Series Cloud-managed network server.

The new OpenEye MM-Series NVR is a cost-effective, high-performance machine that bridges the gap for users that require high storage capacity and performance but don’t want the high cost of an enterprise system, according to the company.

The recorder includes front removable hard drives and a locking front bezel for added data security. The MM-Series also offers both JBOD and RAID models with up to 40 TB of storage for installations that need to meet video retention requirements.

The OE-MM is fully integrated into the OpenEye web services platform and offers centralized user management, single sign-on convenience, mobile apps and a web client for remote connection and management.

“This recorder bridges the gap for users that need features such as RAID and removable drives, but need a more compact solution or can’t afford an enterprise system,” says Ian Siemer, vice president, marketing and product management at OpenEye.

OpenEye Adds Increased Channel Support for Apex Recorders

OpenEye also announces increased channel support for most of its Apex line of recorders. The ME-Series Rev B and MA-Series recorders now support a maximum of 24 channels and the MG and ML-Series recorders support up to 48 channels. MK and MH-Series recorders stay the same with a maximum of 64 channels.

Additional channels can be added at the time of purchase or later as needed with a software license upgrade. OpenEye says this offers savings for installations, especially those that need to add only a few cameras, without adding the cost and time of installing and configuring an additional recorder.

The maximum throughput of the recorder remains the same but installers can use the Apex System Configurator to determine the available throughput on the system before adding additional cameras.
